Final chosen textures

Applied textures in model

Woven
The use of this texture on the curved walls shows the materiality of a woven surface. It creates a visual contrast to the other walls, which are of concrete, and also puts the focus on the curved form of the walls.

Synthetic
The use of this texture on the hanging staircase indicates materiality of the hanging part of the stair, which is keeping it structurally sound. The synthetic texture indicates carbon fibre, a material which is a very strong material, able to make this staircase feasible structurally. This is beneficial to its purpose, as it will need to be strong enough to withstand the movement of many waiters as they carry plates of food up and down.

Modular
The use of this texture on the upper floor workshop showcases the modularity of this extension to the main building, where this extension of the building can easily be removed and replaced without needing to knock down the entire building.
